Hi Danny,

For under US$100 you can have the 2d/3d app...BUT I seem to recall from reading the manual that it only supports upto V3 ?

I have exported SAT solids out of V4 into VC and it works great but surface data seems to go a bit wacko !!

Definitely a great partner for MoI...that is until MoI supports all these things in the next coupla years or so :-)

Talk soon dude!

Rgds,
--Paul--

Thanks for the feed back Paul, I'll check it out in the next few days, what about step or iges ?

Hi minimal, cool looking chair, is it a ring shape or is there cloth or leather in the center of it ?

Cheers
~Danny~

You should try Alibre Design Xpress. Limited as the free version, but it reads .3dm .stp and .igs .sat files!

Import your model and then use the 2D for drawing and dimensioning.

You can check it out yourself:

I did not know sketchup had dimensions, I like how they change size dynamically depending on the zoom level.
It's much more simpler than fiddling with scales and print size etc..
