Usually in another software like autocad, there is a note on the screen / graphic area " student edition", and if a student print out the 2D drawing there will be a stamp "student edition". So every body that use student version cant use for commercial. How about MoI ?

Hi Anis, no there is not currently any kind of screen note or watermark, or any restrictions on using the student version for commercial work.

Currently it is exactly the same software. It is possible that this might change in future versions like for version 3 or so but I'm not sure about that yet.

At the moment the only actual difference of any type is that the license key says VER1EDU at the start of it, but everything works exactly the same as normal.

1. An upgrade path to version 2.0
2. An upgrade path to professional
3. A way to try the Beta

Hi dw,

> 1. An upgrade path to version 2.0

Yes, probably the way that it will work is that there will be two different kinds of v2 educational licenses available - a regular stand-alone copy and also an upgrade license for someone who already bought v1.

> 2. An upgrade path to professional

This is not really needed since there isn't any difference in the software between the edu version and the standard version.

> 3. A way to try the Beta

Yup, an edu license key will work for downloading the beta here: http://moi3d.com/beta.htm same as a standard license key.

Hi this is my first post, I'm a teacher in Australia (mainly Solidworks, for product and furniture design) I've been showing my students Moi and the response has been very positive, I have told them there is a student version but Studica doesn't seen to have Australia in the regions pull down, any ideas what I should tell them if they are interested in getting Moi.

At the moment we have a request in to get Moi for the computer labs but will have to wait to see if it accepted haha.

Btw Just wanted to say thanks Michael for a great piece of software I'm a big fan of the interface - also I'm glad that you've made the student version a commercial licence too, in the past I've often recommended Rhino because they deal with the student versions in the same way.

Hi Tobi, welcome to the forum!

I'm actually not really sure what the deal is with Studica for placing orders from Australia. Yeah they don't have your currency listed, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you can't order it in Euros or US Dollars... You'll need to contact them at: http://www.studica.com/support/contactform.cfm?fstoreid=2 to find out more about that.

re: MoI in your computer lab - why don't you send me an e-mail at moi@moi3d.com and we can discuss setting that up.

Hi Tobi, fellow Aussie :)

Which college and state are you from, if you don't mind me asking, I've always had in the back of my mind to teach at a TAFE college would be cool, maybe in the future, love to discuss this with you some time, PM me if you like.

Cheers
~Danny~

I am from SA, it would be nice if we had a list of Aussie "MoIons!"

My son, now 50, lectured about Cad stuff at Tafe a few years ago.

Can we thimk up an Aussies signature? Something to add to our website name---to siginfy, say--for example---"Oh Year---Yawn" --a fun thing!

Brian, maybe we could answer and start our posts with something totally Aussie, like, 'Giday Brian' :D

Hi Danny, I'm in Victoria and teaching at RMIT it's good fun teaching most of the time and I get to keep up my skills with the software and have enough time to try and do some design on the side. Good to see so many Aussies here.
