Why jagged edges?

Maybe because the number he use a extrude or the quality of the mesh for the number is not so great. I know in C4D you can control the angle to make the curve look better or less.

Anyway, could be the glass?

It's not just the dial edges which show the jaggies. You can also see it in the reflections on the bezel, and again near the bottom edge of the body. I think the antialiasing is not enough. But i don't use C4D so i don't know what antialias settings & algorithms are available...
