Could be useful to have somewhere in the interface the number of selected elements.
Sometimes happen that I "forgot" to have something selected and after some operation, without fail, I have to undo.

Hi Luca, re: display number of selected elements - I think this will happen with the "object properties" panel which will be a part of the object organization work.

I want to make a panel appear in the upper-right area of the window (where command options normally go) that show (and allow editing of) properties for the currently selected objects when you are in selection mode before running a command.

I should be able to include the selected item count for multiple selected objects in that area.
