Hi Michael,
Is there any way to change the a ini file to have Diameter as my default choice rather than Radius?
Thanks
Tom

Hi Tom, there isn't any setting currently in moi.ini to do that.

But it is possible to alter the default by updating a script file - I've attached a file DefaultToDiameter.zip that will do that. Unzip it to get a new RadiusDiameter.js file, and then copy this one over top of the old version under the \commands subfolder inside of MoI's main installation folder.

I will also see about adding an .ini switch for this as well, since the above solution is something that you would have to repeat with each new beta release. But that should do the job for the moment anyway.

Hi Tom, I've added a moi.ini switch for this for the next v2 beta. There will be a new entry under the [Commands] section:

[Commands]
UseDiameterDefault=n

You can switch that to y to make it default to Diameter for all radial type commands that use radius/diameter options. That should work better than updating the script, because you can just do it once and not have to re-do it on every release.

The new UseDiameterDefault option will get added into the moi.ini file the first time you run a radius/diameter type command. If you open up the moi.ini file before running such a command it won't be in there yet, but you can just add it in as a new line in that case.

Yes, like in circle, I kept making my designs using radius when I wanted diameter :)

Hi Pilou,

> Radius / diameter in functions like Circle?

Yup, this controls the default used in several radial-type commands such as Circle, Sphere, Cylinder, Cone, also one variety of Arc.

Currently you can switch these commands to use a diameter value by clicking on the "Radius" label, there is a kind of little "cycle" arrow on it.

Normally it defaults to Radius, this change allows you to set the default to Diameter instead.
