Hi Pilou, I didn't realize Steph did C++ programming, it looks like he has some cool stuff set up there!

Sorry I didn't see the Collada part, did you maybe edit that in after the initial post?

I definitely want to add in Collada at some point here, I think it is on the wishlist already (yup, it is - check in http://moi3d.com/wiki/Wishlist, under "From Pilou" ! ).

File format work can often be pretty time consuming and take quite a bit of testing, it may take me some time before I can get to all the different file formats that everyone has requested. So it is hard for me to guess right now when that will be completed.

Hey cool demo indeed.
Just wondering why you need a collada format as you still have to refine MoI models in cinema4d ... (I suppose for some poly optimization, uv's, etc)

It's Steph who want the Collada format ;)
There is not Collada part here on the above post: it's a wish :)
For him it's the format who will become the more useful between applications (and notably for 3Dmax, Maya...)
Universal, capable read complex scenes, n-gons + vertex shading...
* Mesh geometry
* Skinning
* Morphing
* Animation
* Assets
* Data validation
....
< File format work can often be pretty time consuming

Hi Pilou - as you know MoI does not do any skinning, animation, or morphing type stuff inside of it, it focuses just on modeling.

So MoI's use of the Collada format would actually not include many of those aspects that you list there.

Really it would be exporting the exact same data that is already exported to OBJ format, since OBJ format does also support n-gons and vertex normals.

It is definitely a problem that the 3DS Max OBJ importer does not work very well. That is really a problem that should be fixed by Autodesk so that they could make better use of the widely available standard OBJ format.

But as I mentioned, Collada is on the wishlist, and I do want to add it in. I'm just not exactly sure when I will be able to make it happen.
