AV scart thingy

Managed to sneak Moi V1 past the Misses. Here is a screen grab and a render (modo) of an AV scart block - thought I would try to model things from in the room to try and learn the program. Network switch box is next on the list , may be a mouse, usb stick or I might even try that wooden truck in the other thread....

Several thing could have been better - the metal bit at the front needs to stick out further, more detail on the real one, etc.

Lots of fun this moi toy.

Any and all comments more than welcome.

Very nice model. I was asking in another thread recently about the best way to get that thin groove where the two halves of a plastic case meet. Can I ask what method you used for that? Did you cut it out with a boolean, as Michael recommended I do?

Oh, and Moi is fun isn't it? I keep wanting to fire it up and try new things.

Thanks for the comments.

Yep - just cut it straight in half and added the chamfer, mirror and stuck back together.

Nice model but...
Continue to read only if you are interested to increment realism.

1 - the depth of the object is too large
2 - the SCART flange is a metal sheet folded and therefore can not have these angles
3 - the SCART pins are TOO large! ;-)
4 - PIN jacks looks strange: the colors are inside the inner contact and the shield is not curved on top.

Ciao

Thanks for the comments - I had not noticed "2" and I don't know enough Modo to see where the colour in "4" went wrong :).

I've started to play with a better version and will definatly take your comments into account, thanks.
