Tryin to Sweep this arc around the profile, why does it offset it pls ??

Im probably doing something wrong as Im havin one of those days !!

Hi Paul,

You can get strange behavior sometimes with the sweep 1 rail, as with your example, it looks like the sweep is being made on the center of the arc, I have seen similar, and also times where such a sweep will invert and be made inside the sweep rail.

Normally on such a 1 rail sweep I will set the profile to a control point/intersection on the rail which then usually works correctly

Many thanks for the quick reply, I turned to Rhino to make it this time......hopefully this sort of thing can be tuned up in the future.

It is probably related to the auto positioning of profile to rail feature, but Michael will be able to answer with correct info.

Yes it is youre right...Offset the rail and bingo...

Hi Paul, Hi Steve, yup this that auto-place mode kicking in again.

I have a batch of stuff to tune up for v2 related to sweeps and I want to have some way to control this mode being on or off better.

Also actually I don't want auto-place mode to kick in in this case, the thing that was detecting if the bounding boxes were touching was not picking up on this case, I've fixed that particular thing for v2 now.
