Hi Michael Gibson, I know I asked this before but wanted to know if there was any updates on this subject.

has there been any updates that you know of so us Mac users can start to use Parallels with Windows XP so Moi can work with that platform. I have a Pc but it is such a pain to go back to the desktop to use the program. That is the only reason that I use the PC anymore for MOI. If not is there maybe a possibility to add another type of viewer with MOI so it will work with Parallels with XP for the MAC as well. Thanks for any help you can give on this take care.

Hi Moe, I have heard from a couple of people that some newer releases of Parallels can now run MoI. So it seems like they have made some progress with their Direct3D support.

Someone mentioned that Parallels build 5570 on Leopard worked for them.

It is possible that you may have to adjust some settings in Parallels to make it work, like you might have to enable Direct3D support and tell it how much video memory that it can use, I'm not quite sure of the details on that.

But if you make sure you have the latest update of Parallels you might be able to run with that now... If you give it a try please let me know how it works for you.

Hi Michael,
thanks for the information. I went and saw that they have a new version 5600 but even with this installation it didn't seem to solve the missing Direct3D9 issue. I believe that before the new installation I couldn't even open the program, but now I am able to get in the program, but the 4 windows don't show up with the error on each window missing Direct3D9. The actual tools side shows fine. Any other ideas on this or does anyone else in the community have a solve around for this issues. Thanks take care.

Hi Moe, I don't really know the details, just that people mentioned running it in these 2 threads:
http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=1284.71
http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=1103.17

In the Parallels forum here:
http://forums.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=12428&highlight=direct3d

Someone mentioned that the Direct3D emulation is turned off by default for some reason, so I think you need to turn it on.

Try looking for a "VM properties" or "VM config" screen / Video tab / then a Direct X checkbox to enable it.

Can you find anything like that in Parallels?

Another thing I saw mentioned for Parallels:

"To open Configuration Editor start the Virtual Machine but do not launch the Guest OS, click Configuration."

That may be the spot you need to go to enable Direct3D.
