Typically it works very easily to export data from MoI to Cinema4D - just use OBJ format and normally that works great for getting models built in MoI into C4D for rendering.

You usually don't have to really even mess with any settings, unless you want some special effects like animating the model in certain ways like bending or twisting it - for that you'll want to mess with some settings for dicing up polygons into smaller bits instead of having large polygons.

But if the animation you are talking about is like camera animation and the object itself does not morph, then you don't have to worry about that.

Take option OBJ export Ngon ! Moi --->C4D

I purchased Cinema 4D XL exactly because MOI exports (obj) looked in Cinema 4D exactly like they do in MOI!

This is of course keeping the normal tags exported from MOI but even if you remove the tags the objects still come in clean and work very well with C4D. ;-)

Not an issue. And for more complex import options there is the free riptide plugin for .obj files.
I do a lot of work with the VRay plugin for C4D and encounder -zero- issues.
