Just a quick little fun exercise in MoI on this Sunday afternoon.
(With just a little bit of help from Carrara 5 Pro!)

Right now moi's shell function is saving me hours of work here! Im laughing while creating a complex architectural model to be cnc milled in alu. Short deadline too. These things would have taken hours to do manually in Rhino. Yesterday i was sitting in a place with no Moi, and thinking Mois shelling might work. - I almost can't believe it works this well.
(: now i can play the rest of the day instead of struggling with manual shelling.
Unfortunately i cannot post pictures of it because the project is restricted.
But its a cool model indeed.

Thanks Michael.

Fredrik,

I have a CNC milling machine and am interested in attempting to machine a model made in MoI.

Do you have any finished examples you can post?

What software are you using to convert your model to G-Code for the mill?

In a couple of days we will have milled out the models im working on now. They are done in Rhino/Moi.
I cannot show these however, as i am working as a consultant for another firm on this, and i have a secrecy agreement with them.
We (a two-person company of myself and my brother) do not have a cnc macine yet, but are off course very interested in this kind of technology.
We have done some shapes from rhino though. I can post rhis later, I am travelling right now.

What kind of cnc machine do you have?

Regards,
Fredrik

Yes, interesting models/thoughts.

Maybe (for me) if the head/eye/leg positions could be made random (I see from the model, the head is separate, so that could be rotated differently on each instance). But yes, I like it.
