Hi Marc,

> will it be possible to drag the center point elsewhere?

For scaling no, but I think for rotation yes. I haven't quite gotten to that part of the rotation stuff yet though.

All right, well I've finished up the object frame stuff for the first beta.

Some of the interesting additional things - the frame will now show up in the perspective view as well if you have planar objects selected.

When you click (instead of drag) the rotation grip, you go into a special tri-wheel type rotation mode. This is now slightly different than the one in v1 on background images. In the Top/Front/Right views, you will always see a single view-oriented circle there, so that lets you always do a world axis rotation if you use those views. In the perspective view, you see all 3 circles.

When you're in tri-wheel mode, you can grab the center rotation point and move it somewhere else. That moves the entire tri-wheel to a new location and lets you control the rotation pivot point.

It's also possible now to get an exact angle rotation with the rotation grip (or wheel mode) by entering an angle constraint on the bottom toolbar either before or during doing the drag.

This now lets you do quite a lot of things, such as scaling, mirroring, and rotation either freeform or by a specific angle without needing to activate the Transform commands.

Background images also get all the new edit frame stuff as well, so you can toggle between scaling an image from the corner or from the center by clicking on the scale handles, and set the center of rotation in the same way.

My CAM app has the facility whereby you can move the pivot point.....without cluttering the screen. BY holding down Ctrl and RMB clicking the position on screen will do this ?........I will be purchasing MoI very soon and so I look forward to trying your version out.

Thanks Michael,
--Paul
