I am hung up at how to create the StyleModule0.py as listed in the tutorial excerpt below:

[The ViewMap is now ready, we can write our Style Module. Let us create an empty file named "StyleModule0.py" in which we'll write our style module. Then, display the Style Modeler window using the Windows > "Style Modeler Window" menu item, and press the '+' button that opens a file browsing window. Load then the "StyleModule0.py" file. A line with the StyleModule0.py is now visible in the Style Modeler window. Double-click on this line to make the Editor appear. We'll write our Style Module using this editor. Any change made in the file can be saved using the "save" button.]

If I open the style modeler window, it is empty thus nothing to edit.
If I attempt to open a style it closes the program.
It appears I am locked out of the command line window that opens with freestyle

So any elaboration of the above paragraph from freestyle would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
David W.

Hi Guys,
Had a couple hours to spare, had a play with Freestyle and it's alot of fun.
I don't know where I would use it but it's fun, maybe for WIP, you can use it as a teaser instead of showing a MoI screenshot.

Anyhow here is my attempt for the time I had to play with it and I also made a short video tute to show how I achieved the results.
Video is in DivX format

Cheers
Danny

Hi Danny,

>>I don't know where I would use it but it's fun,

I agree. I certainly am no good at sketching, be it on computer or on paper, I can 3d model, so I could use this to make it look like I can sketch (lol)

This is the result of this thread, I like the way we bounce ideas off each other in this community, a bit of a brainstorming session.
I've done the research and decided to go with MoI of course and for NPR I've gone with Brian's suggestion (Thanks Brian,'mate')
with Carrara 3D Express plus the Toon!Pro plugin, the ease of use and price, it's great.

Now for the Photorealistic side ??? Not yet.

Thanks Michael Gibson for the great bit of code and thanks to everyone who joined this thread.

Here's a little something I whipped up to start my journey exploring these apps.
I call it Chubby Airways.

Cheers
Danny

A huge range of great tutes here
I would, especialy, suggest taking the time to download all the 3D Enzines (3dXtract) magazines from this site. Really great tutes for Carrara--any version!

Nice find Danny - I like the animation examples on http://inkulator.sourceforge.net/

Gives me an idea for a demo I want to add to my website.

So many toys, so little time !
