Hello everybody,

I juste want to share my first moi model. It's the first time I use nurbs in fact, so I suppose there is some area to improve here and there.
I have the feeling I have lost so many hours using sub-d technique for modeling this kind of objects in the past ^^.

I didn't had this kind of wire in mind, but it's a good idea.
Just wondering, it seems there is no way to do this helix array around a freeform curve ? Actually it looks like
you can only do it around a circle.

It would be terrific to have a variation of the plugin to do that, but I suppose it's not so easy to do :o) ... something like a Freeform Curve Helix Array.

Yeah, I would like to add that capability, but at the moment there isn't enough stuff exposed to scripts to make a plugin for 1.0 to do it.

If you would like to post or send to me your path curve, I should be able to cook up a helix around it pretty quickly for you using some other software.

Your model looks soooo awesome. Wish i could to that. I think i can recognize some elements of the halogen lamp tutorial?^^

How did you apply the "L" on the phones? With text body attachted to the mesh?

Yes, using the text tool (arial font).
Then I have done a fillet at once over the complete letter, a boolean union with the circle.
I had to fight a little bit to filleting the lettre border and the circle ... it was hard to find a 'working' value ...

0.01 ... worked but a little bit to big
0.009 failed
0.002 failed
0.005 failed
0.006 !!! works :)

Thanks Sayd, well it's probably a little bit early to starting to create tutorial, but why not when I master nurbs a little but more ... (There are so many stuff I don't really understand myself, so I don't want to share bad infos/construction method).

Little update ... still have to fix the wire thickness.
