Currently you'll have to use a different program to translate the .dxf file into either a .3dm or .igs file.

You might take a look at PolyTrans or Rhino for doing this.

At some point in the future it will probably be possible to directly import dxf and dwg data, but probably not for the initial V1 release.

What program are you using to create the dxf file?

Does ProgeCAD export to any other file formats other than DXF, such as IGES?

I tried the PolyTrans evaluation, and I don't think it will work for you, it is more built to read polygon mesh data out of a DXF file and not to translate curves and lines.

I know that Rhino will work to translate this - you can download a demo version that will save 25 times at http://www.rhino3d.com if you want to try it.

What is your problem? Have you a Pc Computer?
Have you load the Pc Version against the Mac Version?
Have you copy/past the Serial number from the Readme file?
Have you an xp 64 version?...
< If you have an error with the installer, please, search for this error message in Google.
You will find a fix on Microsoft website, for WinXP. It's not an Amapi installer problem.

I have a normal Xp Version and absolutly no problem for install it!
Maybe disable all Antivirus or firewall before Install ?

The only little prob for me is that you can't close the prog by closing the "WindowsToolbar" so Go Menu File/ Quit :)
