A thread about threads

Hi, folks!

How would I make a thread in MoI? That is - a thead on a bottle or a sparkplug?. I'm guessing that it involves first making the thread with a curve and then using the Sweep function to solidfy it. But how the heck do I spiral a curve upwards? :)

p.s Great interface, Michael! ...and awesome fillets! :)

Here's one method using control point editing:

Eventually there will be a specific spiral tool to make this a lot easier, but I'm not exactly sure when it will be available, maybe not for v1...

After you have created your sprial, draw a circle and make sure that the circle is not inside the bounding box of the spiral, in other word - move it away from the sprial. Now select the circle and do a sweep, and MoI will automatically place the circle perpendicular to the spiral for the sweep. Let me know if this part needs more explanation.
