Yes very nice tutorial !
This is actually the standard way of nurbs object creation in Truespace !
Let me add also to this thread that you can use any rotational curves object
as a starter for this kind of modeling !
If you start with a rotational nurbs object you can ad detail where you
need it by adding points .
Here I did a more belly shape from a peanuts shaped nurbs object with points added at the heighth of the wateroutlett....

There are actually quite a few functions in Moi3d
that let you model with the show points.......
Here is the network function where I just pulled
the middle piece upwards that can i.e. give you nice buttons etc.

Here you have a panel ... a loft over 3 curves.
You can manipulate the panel the same way as in the
tutorial ... with show points
so whenever you want to make an object with point manipulation
your NOT RESTRICTED TO a sphere !

I come from a Hexagon type modelling background and the more I learn about MoI the more I am truly amazed! (I have all sorts of programmes including Amapi7.52 through to the latest versions of LightWave andXSI)

Combined with the extra potentials for manipulation with the type of apps like 3D Paint and even the simple Vertex Room Displacement Painting of Carrara6Pro---what else do most of us need?

Yeah Brian !
I have all sorts of things too !
But I come back to Moi 3d most of the time.
I do around 80 % of my modeling now in Moi 3d ; P
