RingCircle Creator

Hi all,

Micheal was kind enough to build a tool for MoI jewelry designers to draw specific ring sizes.

I filled in the measurements for each country system, referencing a number of ring size charts I found online.
However, I'm really only familiar with the US system, so if anyone notices any discrepancies, please let me know.

There is also a "custom size", option, which is essentially the same as the regular circle tool.

To install, unzip the RingCircle Zip folder, placing both RingCircle files ( html and jscript ) in the "commands" folder of MoI ( C:\Program Files\MoI 1.0\commands )

The RingCircle tool won't show up in MoI unless you turn it on with a keyboard shortcut. To make the shortcut, click the "Options" icon at the bottom right area of MoI

(it looks like a yellow gear) and under "Shortcut Keys", add a key and a command. You can choose whatever key you prefer....I used the key "R" and typed in the command "RingCircle". ( with no quotation marks )

Hope you find it useful...please send your appreciation and thanks to Michael! :-)

-Jesse

Hi Jesse,

My Thanks goes to both you & Michael for this, it should prove to be really helpful.
I've only just downloaded it, so I'll let you know if I find there's any problems with the British-Aussie Ring Sizes.

regards Colin

Colin - I'm glad that this will be useful, please let me know if there is anything that needs tuning up with it.

Hi Michael,

Just wanted to let you know that everything with the British-Aussie sizes seems to be OK.
Or should I say that the MoI sizes are close enough to my Ring Mandrels that it's not really an issue. :)

Been finding it a very handy feature, saves me having to stop & double check a data sheet I'd previously made for reference.

regards Colin

Hi Colin,

Thanks for your feedback. For US sizes, I chose numbers from online reference charts that I thought were more accurate, but for the other country standards, I didn't have much to go on from personal experience, so if you think the script could be amended with more accurate numbers, I don't mind changing it. :-)

Hi Jesse,

I really don't think you'd need to change anything.
The only thing worth considering at some point is having some more of the larger finger sizes.
But that's more of a personal thing because most of what I do is in the bigger size range.
That's sizes Z through to Z+10.

Here's a Ring Size chart that matches pretty close to the Mandrels that I use.
http://www.celtarts.com/ring_size.htm
As you'll see, their sizes are very close to yours.
And this page is handy for those larger sizes.

Hi Everybody,

Thought I'd offer up this modified version of the original RingCircle Script that Jesse & Michael created.
Everything is exactly the same, it's just I've personalised this version to make the British system the first one for selection.
Figured there might be other Aussie or British Jewellers using MoI who'd find this Script more useful.

The exact same rules apply to how you'd install this Script & get it to run.
I'm using R for the Shortcut key, but now using RingCircle1 for the command entry.
Hope it's of some use to others.

regards Colin
