Bug in rotation! All  1  2-13

Hi Pilou, I like your tower, it almost looks like a skeleton backbone.

Can you please explain the rotation problem some more, I don't understand the bug.

I tried drawing a rectangle, select it, do Transform/Rotate, picked the origin as the center point, then typed 45 and push enter, and I don't see an extrusion.

Are you doing something different to see the bug?

Yes I make the same

then typed 45 "On the numeric keyboard of the computer" and push enter
= you arrive in the menu of the Extrusion!!!
So you don't see any rotation but an extrusion in Wip :)
And it's reproductable at any rotation!

This don't arrive when I use your little numeric inside calculator :)
Maybe all keys of my numeric keyboard is like a shortcut to Extrusion?

It's when I enter a number with "5" at any place!
A soon as a 5 is typed ---> Extrusion !

On your little numeric calculator inside the"5" works fine and I have a rotation :)

Do you have any shortcut key listed for extrusion in your moi.ini ?

Also, is your "Num Lock" button engaged?

If your Num Lock is turned off, then your keypad will generate things like Left Arrow, Home, etc.. - maybe you have one of these for an extrusion keyboard shortcut?

My Num lock is enable else i can't type any number :)
Seems I have no 5 as shortcut (but when I type 5 at the beginning of programm I arrive also at the Extrusion!
It's not the same for you?

It's the E see follow....maybe it's a shortcut installed by an another prog or another person who intercept the E
No such trouble as I can use you mini calculator!)

Aha, I can repeat it now that I set a shortcut for E=Extrude.

Definitely a weird bug in keyboard handling, some kind of confusion between numbers and letters, I will look to fix it tonight.

If the number of keyboard shortcuts increases, please do not loose of sight the fact that there are many users with non-american keyboards. Even the French/French keyboard of Frenchy Pilou is probably different from my French/Belgian keyboard ! ;-)
I know this can cause some issues when assigning hotkeys although I don't know exactly how this can be avoided...

Function "Move object "face to face" (may be not very easy to code but very practical :)
= You clic a face of object one, you clic a face of object two
--> Object one is moving to object two face to face cliked :)

For now think of it as a "bonus shortcut". You get 2 shortcuts for the price of 1.

This should make it twice as fast to do an extrude, right? ;)

I think the difficult part would be to figure out a good rotation for it automatically.

Just moving something on to the other block should work pretty well already, since if you grab a block near the endpoint of an edge, it should snap on to it and allow you to drop it on the endpoint of a different block. But then you want it to automatically rotate? Hmmm....

You could maybe build a Roman aqueduct with some of those pieces.

Yes that is the challenge a 3 matrix rotation + Move :)

You don't know Muqarnas ? Mine are free adaptation of it :)
So a Roman aqueduct will be an historical transfiguration scaling :)

Something can help the process :)
3 clicks on a face's object One (a plan defined), 3 clicks for the object Two
Surely more easy to speak than to code :)

Yes, something where you specify some more reference points could work. I'm going to do some more transform tools such as array in the beta after the next one and I can try to do some orientation tools like this as well.
