It's the H28 design by Hereschoff who designed many of the early Americas Cup boats and many other famous ones.
Some 6 where built in backyards here in South Australian in the 1940s, and they are still alive and well. Even more in Western Australia I believe.
I spent many happy years sailing in one.

One way to send a private message now is to click on someone's name which will open up their profile, and if they have included their e-mail address there will be a "Send e-mail" link there that you can use to send them an e-mail.

Write your own e-mail address inside the message somewhere for a reply, because I think it will get sent from the forum software with a generic moi@moi3d.com reply address by default.

Any suggestions on how to Fillet all the Upper edges (only) on this fitting anyone please.

Hi Brian, there is a little tiny surface piece right near one corner which I think is gumming things up:





The fillet won't succeed if it would cause that little piece to be completely consumed away.

I'll see if I can do a bit of minor surgery on your object to fix it up.

I believe you must just redraw all the lateral profil in one curve
Copy it
Inverse it
Move it
Loft it
and then fillet the up face
Is that you want?
(my part bottom circle is not perfect due I make that speedy :)

Hi Brian, another couple of things - this corner here:



Does not actually come down to a straight end like it looks, it is bent into a really tight corner at the very bottom of it (shown here zoomed in on that corner):



Really tight bends like that will tend to interfere with filleting as well.

One other thing I noticed was the arc pieces on the inside were actually like 186 degree arcs so there is a kind of slight angle between them and the lines connecting between them, instead of being tangent.

I'll cook up a tuned up version for you in a minute.
