Is it possible to use the data of this voronoi generator ( http://jeneratiff.com/doku.php?id=articles:voronoi_diagrams ) in moi?

It's 2D voronoi but seems it's easy to transform it in 3D beautyfull forms :)

Hi Rudl,

It looks like it should be possible - the easiest way to do it would be to first use Rhino since the script written on that page is meant to run under Rhino. That script will generated trimmed planar surfaces in Rhino. Then export from Rhino as a .3dm file and then you can read that .3dm file into MoI.

If you don't have Rhino, just install the Evaluation version, it has a limited number of saves but it should work to complete this task.

It would be possible to write a completely different script that works inside of MoI instead, but that will be more work than just using the existing Rhino script (running inside Rhino) that is written already on that page.

There are also prototype Rhino tools for Voronoi patterns (2D and 3D) which can be downloaded from the Rhino Labs page...

Hi Micheal,

I have installed the Rhino evalution, loaded down the script from here http://jeneratiff.com/doku.php?id=articles:voronoi_diagrams , copy and paste to a editor, did the file name .rvb, drop/draged it to the main window from Rhino and got the message unknown command.

Next try: I got the tip to delete all line numbers. I did it. I got the command: unknown command ´´

So I deleted all ´´ , next was unknown command: QVoronoi.

I don´t know what to do further and hope you can help me.

Regards RUdl

Why don't you try the native Rhino "Lab" tools for creating Voronoi, mentioned in previous post # 1190.4. Unless there is something unique which this other script can do which Rhino's tools can not?

Hi Rudl, have you been able to contact the author of the script? I think their e-mail address is listed on the page there - they would definitely know the most about it...

Since it is a Rhino script, you also might try asking on the Rhino newsgroup here

Let me know if none of the above helps any and I can try to take a look, but it will have to wait until after I return from vacation next week.

Hi Rudl,

I have tried that script in Rhino V3 and V4 and it seems to work fine. Just download attached files and save them somewhere. Drag&drop a "qvoronoi.rvb" file into the Rhino. The open dialog window should appear. Select the output.txt file you downloaded before...
