I like the new icon as well - the old one just looks like the standard old icon I use in my TreeDBNotes info organizer everyday...

The new one lends an artistic flair which is nice since MOI is all about design etc.

Though I think it might be better to have a yellow "totem head" icon similar to the statues on the main page...

Hi Will, I tried this originally but it was really difficult to make a version at 32x32 or 16x16 pixels that was at all legible. The lightbulb shape shrinks down to a small size better.

Cool icon!

This set it apart from other lightbulbs in computing, an often used image.

Not sure if the white halo behind blends well with the clean edge illustration though.

Regards,

Marc

Hi Marc, thanks for the feedback!

I experimented a bit with it and without it.

If I always knew what the background was going to be behind the icon, then I might have gone with no halo.

But when you have a darkish photo type background behind it, you lose the perception of the clean edge.

I figured that with a light bulb I had a good excuse to put in a white halo (that's the "light of inspiration") to ensure contrast of that outside edge... :)
