Very minor issue in V5 at least

Hi,

When looking at a line running parallel to the X axis, from a front/back view, you can tell when it is selected, as the yellow highlight color appears.

When look at the same line, from a left/right view, you can still tell when it is selected, if you look closely, as the yellow highlight color appears (as a dot) and the square bracket symbols are visible.

But when looking a a plane parallel to the XY plane, from a front/back/left/right view, you can see the "edge" of the plane BUT the yellow highlight does not appear when you select the plane. When selected, you still see the two square bracket symbols but they are easy to miss.

Not a big deal - perhaps it works this way (no yellow highlight) for a reason.

Just FYI.

Frederick

My guess would be because you are viewing the planes “edge” which DOESNT get selected when you select a plane. That would need a drill down selection to then select the actual edge you are viewing, which should turn yellow then….

Hi Frederick, there is some special case processing happening for the line case to make it show as a dot and it's just more difficult to do it efficiently for the plane case.

One thing you can experiment with though is reducing the transparency for the edit frame grips if you would like to see them more easily.

If you go to Options > General > "Edit .ini file" button, then in moi.ini find this setting in the [View] section:

EditFrameOpacity=45

This can take a number from 0 (fully transparent) to 255 (fully opaque).

The default is pretty transparent to make them sort of "low overhead". Try something like EditFrameOpacity=150 and they should be more visible.

Hi,

Yes, that seems to be the case.

Planes, lines and points have no height but lines and points get the yellow highlight when selected but not planes.

Just a curious difference.

Michael's reply suggests there is a good reason for the difference.

Hi Michael,

I confess I do not understand why planes are different but it really doesn't matter.

Editing the INI file as suggested does make the "frame grips" better for my old eyes.

Thanks.

Frederick
