Hi,

I just noticed that neither V4 or V5 snaps to the grid.

Why is that feature not implemented?

Thanks.

Frederick

Hi Frederick,

Are you sure you have grid snapping turned on?

It's working for me in both v4 and v5.

Hi Frederick, if it's not highlighted in the bottom toolbar you need to click on it to turn it on.

Also check Options > Grid and see if you've got any strange values for snap size.

Hi All and you too Michael,

I was looking in the Options pages accessed via the "gear" icon.

Lots of stuff related to snapping but I didn't see it on the grid page or the snaps page.

Seems like it should be on one of those pages.

I see it now but I was not expecting to find it there.

Thanks.

Frederick

Hi Frederick, it's located at the top level of the UI so you can always turn it on or off with a single click without needing to open up the Options dialog.

Hi Michael,

I can see the benefit of having the button there but it seems odd, at least to me, that it doesn't also appear in one of the pages of Options that I mentioned.

But while talking about that "toolbar" at the bottom - can the order of items there be changed by we users?

Hi Frederick,

Maybe. But it's also not necessarily that great to have redundant UI that isn't intended to ever be used.

You can but I don't recommend it because you have to redo it on each new release.

But if you want to you can edit the UI, the bottom toolbar is generated from the CommandBar.htm file inside the UI subfolder inside the install.

Thank you Michael.

I will now proceed to make a mess of my installation. ;)
