Navigating workspace using the touch pad

So, this just happened that I have to train Moi3D to my niece using her laptop and she forgot to bring the mouse with her. So, the only option was the touch pad and that also was my first experience using touch pad in Moi.

I found it quite difficult/inconvenience to navigate the workspace, however... pressing ALT + Left Button Pad + Dragging on the pad 'just' to rotate the view in 3D strained my wrinkles quick enough.

I imagine that we can use (in 3D view):
- two fingers gestures to rotate the view
- three fingers gestures to pan the view
- and retain the pinch gesture to zoom in and out the view

Currently, AFAIK, pinch and two fingers gestures will zoom inn and out the view.

Does Moi have option for these, or I'm missing something?

Cheers.

Hi Elang, is it a Mac or Windows laptop?

For Mac with the trackpad you can do:

Two fingers dragging = Pan
Ctrl + Two fingers dragging = Rotate
Pinch = zoom
Two fingers double tap ("Smart zoom") = View reset

These all work with light skimming touches, not a "click".

There are some options you can adjust under Options > View > Rotate/Pan/Zoom options > "MultiTouch options".

If you want to have plain 2 fingers to be rotate and Ctrl to be Pan set the checkbox there for "Swap 3D rotate and pan".

There is also a ReverseTrackpadScroll=n option in moi.ini .

You might also be able to get 3 fingers dragging to be used for rotate if you can get the operating system to not eat it, some info here:

Hi, Michael...

It's for Windows 10. Very sorry not to mentioned it earlier.

And I'll look into your direction ASAP.

Thank you.

Hi Elang, on Windows the touch pad isn't used for multi-touch type navigation. However if the screen is touch capable you can do multi-touch actions on the screen.

Understood, Michael.

However, I can confirm that the two finger gestures and pinching works for zoom in & out on Windows.

Thank you very much.
