Hi Jack....

Great Job...
My best choice is image "moi_5.jpg", looks very real..... The manufacture aspect is very deep.
This what I mean we can create 3D model in MoI not just for 3D concept.

Will look forward for your next project Jack !

Regards,
Lish

Hi Jack : what your sentiment about the use of ViaCad / Moi
(less / same / more) easy to manipulate?

Hi Jack, it looks really great! I like seeing how all the individual pieces add together to give you a nice atmosphere for the final scene.

Wow, wonderful work!

That ViaCAD looks handy - price isn't too bad either - what export format do you use to get stuff out?

I thought I saw "Rhino" export on the ViaCAD info page but the demo doesn't show ".3DM" or anything I'd like to use to go into Cinema 4D or XSI (like OBJ) ??

-Will

PS - I see Rhino import but all the export formats seem to be triangulated (no OBJ for example)

thx for your nice words ... work with viacad 2d/3d is more constructive then moi, but has some nice parts to play with ... moi is more intuitive and you can work very fast to create something ... i like both.

to get .obj out of viacad 2d/3d (doesen't support .obj) i export .iges, load it in moi and get wonderfull .obj out for my xsi.
for the newest cinema 4d you can use .dwg comming out of viacad 2d/3d.

and now, some texturing ;)

Thank Jack for the ViaCAD tip - and thanks Michael for support Iges import so nicely! Yes, the simple VC models I created came in nicely to MOI (lines, curves and all LOL) all ready for MOI export.

I wish there as a ViaCAD back in the mid/late 90's when I threw away good money on AutoDesk's "3D Concepts" - something they put out and never further supported (booleans would look good in the design window but wouldn't export out; your holes would be totally missing!)
