Hi All,

I have this 3dm file which appears to be empty. It was designed by someone in Zbrush and exported as a 3dm file.
Could someone explain what I/they need to do?

Many thanks.
Gunter

Normally ZBrush don't export 3DM files...
And Moi don't import 3DM "polys" from Rhino...

So Ask to the start creator to change the export file format!
look the Moi formats import !

Or maybe you have changed the extension original in .3dm ?

Hi Gunter, yes like Pilou writes above it's likely that the .3dm file only contains polygon mesh type objects and not NURBS surface type objects.

Typically that type of data can't be imported into MoI because it's made up of a lot of little flat polygons instead of structured CAD surfaces which MoI is focused on using.

You can export from MoI into a polygon mesh program. When you do that MoI will chop up the model into little polygon pieces. But it isn't easy to go the reverse direction.

So except for in some special cases usually it's a one way data transfer out to ZBrush.

Hi Michael,

Thank you I've found that out the hard way:

So now, If I want to change the stone size, I can't in Moi3d.

Lesson learnt!
