Hey All,

I'm trying to orient the gemstones on the surface of the lattice ring:

I'm trying to get the girdle of the gemstone aligned to the surface and curvature of the ring:

Could someone please suggest the best way?

Many thanks in advance!
Gunter

yes Orient Line-Line is cool for this...and has 3 possibilities

Uniform : Object will be extend / decreased

Stretch : deformed following points selected

None : normal copy

Take 2 opposite points on your start object ---> 2 diagonal points on the target ring

Right click for recall the function ! ;)

Another way is to use flow again...
But this use has to be using rigid option of FLOW

You place your stones in your original grid and use the same source and target surfaces (but with rigid option)

唯一的建议是将戒指圈的需要配对目标曲面,在原位复制一份(Selected edit→copy→paste)将戒指圈隐藏起来,再进行定位之类的操作,这可以有效避免捕捉不准确带来的问题。
(The only suggestion is to match the target surface of the ring ring ring, make a copy in situ (Selected edit → copy → paste), then hide the ring ring, and perform positioning and other operations, which can effectively avoid problems caused by inaccurate capture.)
