Hi Michael:

Thank you for your attention
In the new Beta some hot keys don't work as Alt+K (construction lines)

In V-2 you will include icons for the hot keys or they will continue being same

Best regards

Hi Juan, can you please go to Options / Shortcut keys, and let me know what you have under Alt+K?

I just did a quick test over here and it seemed to be ok for me...

Is it possible you were using something else like Ctrl+K instead of Alt+K?

I would like to add some kind of "plug-ins" menu so that you could pick a script off of a menu list of scripts instead of only doing it with a keyboard shortcut.

Hi Michael
All the hot keys work well in the previous beta but in the new not.
the non indispensable icons and I believe that the hot keys are of great utility and they make the quick work

Best regards

Hi Juan, can you please go to Options / Shortcut keys and check if the keys are actually assigned there?

With the old beta, did you possibly have the moi.ini file copied into the old beta's folder under \Program Files ? If so, then copy it over to the new beta as well.

Hi Juan,

Maybe a clue...

Some command files (like ConstructionLine, CSec, ScaleArray...) are not in the "standard distribution" package. It means that you have to place the files in the "Commands" directory of MoI manually.
The easiest way to do this :
- Install the new beta in its default (proposed) directory
- uninstall your previous version of MoI. The commands that you've added manually will not be removed. You can cut and paste them into the "Commands" directory of your new install.

@ Michael : this can be quite confusing for some users I think. Would it be possible to enclose all these scripts in the "standard" version of MoI ?

I don't know - I'm not sure what the problem is yet.

Can you please go to Options / Shortcut keys, and see if your customized shortcuts like Alt+K are listed there, or if you only have the default ones listed there?

Juan,

Do you see these two files in your "MoI beta Nov-18-2007 > Commands" directory ?
- ConstructionLine.htm
- ConstructionLine.js

???

Hi Juan, thanks - that narrows down the problem a little bit.

Do other shortcuts like Ctrl+O for open work?

If Alt+K is not working, please post the Command that you have assigned to Alt+K so I can take a look at it.

Thanks!

Hi Juan,

Just see my post above : http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=1139.5

If your shortcut "ALT+K" is for the "ConstructionLine" command, then you must install the script in your "Commands" folder. It is not a script that automatically installs with MoI.
That script works fine here...

Hi Juan, I think that Schbeurd has figured out the problem.

You likely installed some custom commands for the previous beta, these went into the \commands sub-folder.

You need to copy these over to the new beta's \commands folder for them to run in the new beta.

Well, there's always new ones kind of coming along...

For 2.0 betas I'll figure out a better solution - I think maybe a separate centralized \plug-ins folder (probably in the same location as the moi.ini file) would work well so that extras can be installed in one place and still used by new beta releases without any extra copying around, just like the moi.ini file.

That would be a good solution I think. But maybe some of the most useful or "popular" commands should become an integral part of MoI interface (accessible from their own Icon in the main window). I tend to forget that some of them exist (like "ShrinkTrimmedSrf") if they are just accessible through shortcuts... ;-)))

Hi Michael:

The problem solves copying and paste the commands of the previous beta in the new.

Thanks for their attention

Yeah, I just need to find kind of a tidy place to put them.

Like ShrinkTrimmedSrf for instance can be useful in the right circumstance, but on the other hand quite a lot of people will never need to use it. So I don't really want to place it at the same level as more frequently used things.

I'll be working on finding a place in the UI to stash some of these types of things.

Also for extra plug-ins I'm thinking of having a "Plug-ins" icon down on the bottom toolbar, I was thinking to the left of Options. That would bring up a text menu with all the available custom/extra plug-ins in it so that would be an easier way to browse through them visually instead of remembering keyboard shortcuts.

I am hoping you will add "Incremental Save" as an alternative in the Save Icon on the desktop---please!
