Wiki now available

There's a wiki now available here: http://moi3d.com/wiki

This is going to be where I will collect up various information, like links to different tutorials, links to informative forum posts, answers to frequently asked questions, etc...

You can also add stuff to the Wiki if you create an account there, see http://moi3d.com/wiki/Editing for some information how to edit pages and add your own new pages to the Wiki.

I'm still in the process of adding stuff to the Wiki myself, but I think there is enough stuff there for it to be useful now.

This is a pretty major step in getting things organized!

Hi Michael,

Great!

By the way, is there any chance to get a RSS feeds for MoI forum? My web browser shows a RSS icon in the address bar, but it doesn't seem to work...

Hi Petr, I looked into a little bit before - it seems to work sometimes, I think it gets confused if you have recently logged in. You might try logging out from the forum, shortly after that it might work better.

It will be a little bit before I'll be able to dig into fixing that up.

Maybe you must add a link to the Wiki on the http://moi3d.com/ Home Page ;)

@Daniele - thanks! :) The nice thing about this is that now posts here on the forum like your tutorial one can be listed over there on the wiki, so they are basically indexed in one place instead of scrolling down and down as new posts are added until new people can't find them as easily.

I think I like this better than trying to have too many different sections to the forum itself.

Definitely that is the plan! I just haven't got around to updating the regular web site quite yet.

I tried to go over just a few essential editing basics in that one article. But you don't really need to worry about it too much, it's totally fine if you just hit the edit tab and type in some plain unformatted text at the start or end. I can then easily tweak it later on to add formatting, move it to a related section, etc...

What about setting up a real Gallery section with thumbnails? This is something that's really missing, i.m.o. and I think it would be very useful for new users (and customers-to-be) to be able to see what MoI can do in combination with various renderers.
Cheers

Hi Daniele, yup - that's definitely the other major ingredient to the web site that I'd like to add.

But it's not quite as vital of an ingredient to the documentation and just learning the program as the wiki though, so I think I might not get to that particular part until just after the 1.0 release.

I viewed the wiki as more of a piece of the overall documentation, that's why I put that out as part of the documentation push that I'm in right now.

I'll also be putting the help file on the web site as well, I just need to finish the introduction section, and also split up the reference into some different pages because it is kind of a heavy load on the server to have a really big long single page with a lot of images in it (that's why it is just up as that .zip file at the moment).

Ok. However, what should I put as a RSS source address? I have tried to write this directly into the RSS reader: "http://moi3d.com/forum/rss.php" but I didn't succeed in getting there... -Petr
