Is there I way that I can get leading zeroes to be omitted from dimensions like ".100" instead of "0.100"?
This is required by ASME Y14.5 1.6.2(a): "A zero is not used before the decimal point for values of less than 1 in."
I thought it was just an arbitrary convention, but I've discovered that those leading zeroes take up a surprising amount of room and actually make it difficult to pack all the dimensions on a drawing. Sometimes I need to manually copy the "Value" of each dimension, paste it into the "Text" field, and delete the leading zero to get things to fit visually.
I guess Y14.5 says that leading zeroes must be omitted only from inch drawings because it's common for parts to have feature sizes less than 1 in, but not so common to have feature sizes less than 1 mm and also there are usually more decimal places in inch dimensions and so they take up more room.
