Import .obj file to Blender

I have in MOI several objects saved as an .obj file.
When I import the file to Blender all objects with the same colour are one object in Blender.
What can I do, that one object has it own place.

Hi Rudl, when you export .obj to Blender, objects are not separated or combined based on color. The color/style assigned in MoI will become the material assignments in Blender and objects that had the same color will have the same material assigned.

But object combining will happen if the objects have the same object name assigned in MoI and the option under Options > Import/Export > "Combine same named objects" is enabled (checked):

If that is unwanted then uncheck that option in MoI before exporting.

But also another thing that could combine your objects is if you have "Split by object" not turned on in Blender when doing the import:

If you're still having trouble can you please post an example .3dm file where you're getting things combined in Blender.

If you export an fbx file instead of an obj file, all the objects are separate units in blender, no special actions required.

The extra step of “naming” your objects is huge in many scenarios…..
