Hello together,

I am stuck at a surface transition and wanted to ask for advice.

What would be your tactic to create a beautiful blend / patch like like in the original photo.

I tried the patch command in Rhino 7, it is not ideal.

The patch command in Moi does not work.

I am thankful for any tips and tricks.

I have attached my MoI and Rhino (saved as Version 5) file if you want to try.

Best regards

I could use the sub-d operations in Rhino 7 and convert the sub-d to a nurbs model, but I wanted to try it the "classical" way without sub-d.

Thank you PILOU,

but that is not the problem, as i have already this surface.
The hard part is to close the gap to the cylinder surface.

Hi rhinouser141, usually it is best to make an initial structure that has sharp edges in it and use fillets to construct the transitions rather than trying to go around and fill in things "patch by patch".

So more like this:

Basically you don't want to try to directly construct transition areas, you initially want broad simple surfaces and then have extended transitions between them that are then trimmed to make the final outline as opposed to drawing in all the final outlines at the start and trying to fill in surfaces directly between.

Like for example this area here, you don't want to try and fill that in with a surface that follows that boundary area directly, it should be a transition surface that is extended and trimmed to the final edges, not directly constructed to the final edges:

Zarkow, it is not appropriate to post advertisements for Plasticity coupon codes here.

Thanks, - Michael

Yes, sorry, you're right, the commercial is my standard video description, I hadn't thought about that. I changed it to a OneDrive link without ads. Today I like to use both tools in combination.
