Hello,
this is kind of frustrating now as I installed moi v5 beta and every time I open it, the program doesnt remember any settings I made (window size, custom settings like grid colors or shortcut keys).

Please, what is the fix?

I have this problem with every beta.

Hi Mr. Yuri, MoI will write settings to the moi.ini file when the program closes.

So savings not being persisted would probably mean you have some kind of restrictive permissions set on the folder where moi.ini is located or possibly the moi.ini file is set to be read only.

I would suggest testing to see if you can edit the moi.ini file with a text editing program like notepad.

You can launch it with notepad from inside MoI by going to Options > General > "Edit ,ini file" button.

If you then say insert a line with an "X" at the start of the file and try to save it in notepad, does it save successfully there or not?

If not check whether moi.ini is set to be read only on its file attributes and also if write permission is denied in security settings on the folder containing moi.ini .

Also are you using the standard MoI install or have you possibly installed any mods? If you have installed a mod that placed the moi.ini file in the same folder as moi.exe, then that will not be writable by default but you can solve that by launching MoI with administrator privileges.

In MoI program, under Options > General, clicking on "Edit .ini file" button will show the Path to moi.ini

For Windows 11, or 10, my path is C:\Users\<my_identifying_name>\AppData\Roaming\Moi\moi.ini

I knew it was an issue with permissions but formerly I fixed it by unchecking READ ONLY on ini file.
Now I had to add my user to permissions (or I could change owner to my user) even if I am member of administrators on PC.

Weird.

But it's fixed.

Thanks guys.
