Boolean Merge

Hello Michael,

can you explain what conditions are required for an object to get merged with another one? It happens that I insert an object to merge via boolean menu and one object completely disappears. I checked it but it looks like it's a closed volume. I assumed if its open surfaces or holes this function fails.

Brgds, Axel

Hi Axel,

It needs to have a well formed set of curves produced by the surface/surface intersections.

If there are anomalies in the geometry like areas where a surface or edge is folded back on itself in self intersections that can cause problems.

It's difficult to diagnose this just from a written description, I need to be able to examine the actual geometry to be able to give any more feedback on it.

Please post the .3dm model file or e-mail it to me at moi@moi3d.com .
