Hi Lish, the ideal way to do a revolve like this is actually with one segment open, instead of having a segment directly on the revolve axis.

So for example if you want to pivot around the bottom line your profile would ideally look like this:

Basically, if MoI really tried to revolve that line that was directly on the revolve axis, it would be a revolve of a line around itself, making a collapsed surface there. There is something that tries to automatically remove such lines to prevent this problem from happening, but it seems to be running into a bug in this situation, I'll take a look and see if I can fix it up.

But if you don't create that line segment that MoI needs to remove, your revolve will work properly.

Hi Michael,

When I created the fixture, I got a problem when create a circle.
Here is the case :

I want to create circle with Diameter = 6.7 mm
In MoI I must input the circle dimension as Radius, so I must do this 6.7 / 2. It will take a long time for me if in my project I have many different circle.
I hope you can increase likes :

1. We can input formula in the dimension dialog
2. or we can input diameter dimension

Thank You !

Regards,
Lish

Hi Lish, when you create a circle, you should see the label that says Radius: has a little arrow on it:

If you move your mouse over that label, you should see it kind of highlight like this:

If you then click on it, it will switch it to diameter mode instead of radius mode, so then you can type in the diameter instead of the radius:

That should make it easier for you to enter the diameter without doing any extra calculations. In the future I do want to support math expressions in those entry boxes as well.

It looks like your fixture has turned out well!

Hi Lish, I have been able to track down the bug that was preventing the revolve from working in your first example.

I've fixed it up so it will work properly in the next release.

Thanks for posting the .3dm model file, it really helps a lot to have an example file!
