I create parts that I want to be solid. After modeling for a time I realize that I have a joined surfaces instead of a solid. Is there a way with in MOI 3d or another app that will show problem areas. I have attached a model I am currently working on. Thanks rtell

Hi rtell, it's good to set up a shortcut key to highlight "naked edges" which are edges that only belong to one face instead of being joined between 2 faces.

Those are the spots that need to be filled in to make a solid.

Check out here for how to set up the shortcut key:

So in your case here it's the bottom area and 2 other places:

The bottom isn't quite all on one plane, it would probably be good to cut off a small amount with a line to get the end all on one plane.

Here is the front part made into a solid now.

For the back part the naked edges are very short so it's more difficult to get at them.
