canvas megapixel resolution

Is anyone able to do File > Save As > AI/PDF/DXF/SVG with "Canvas Megapixel Resolution" set to 537 or higher? I expect this to require about 26.3 GB of RAM, and when I do it with 536 I do in fact see 26.66 GB of RAM being used, but as soon as I set it to 537 or higher v4 just crashes while v5 throws this error:



I've tried doing this with 32, 48, and 64 GB of RAM installed and have the same problem with all: saving as AI/PDF/DXF/SVG works fine when resolution is 536, but fails when it's 537. I'm doing this on macOS with just a cube in the scene and these settings:



Basically it seems like 536 Mpx is a hard limit. I expected the limit to be 1000.

Hi Peer, I've investigated this and the 536 Megapixel limit is due to a size limit in Qt's QImage class.

I'll see what's involved in not using that.
