Hello Michael,

So ACIS fillet seems to have some sort of 'auto add tangent edges' feature, but ... no all the time.
In this example I'm trying to fillet this cube, and depending what edge I select, the result is a little bit unpredictable. The red dot represents what initial edge I can click to fillet the whole loop at once. In the fist one, any of the 3 edges is fine: The second version, only one of the straight edges will process the loop at once. Last 2 models, there is no auto-loop at all.

I'm starting to really like this auto add tangent feature, but off course use should also have the choice ... is it something you planning to add at some point ?

HI PaQ, that seems to be something that ACIS is doing automatically and I'm not seeing how I can control it. I'll need to ask their tech support for info.

Wanted this edge filleting...(reproductible glitch)


Will work in Solid++ in making a boolean Diff with the solid and the bad face result! 3° radius


Same Booelan seems impossible with Acis who gives also an error but not the same! :) Also 3° radius

It's a bug in the display mesher, so it actually is just a visual effect display bug.

If you save the glitched result to a .3dm file and reload it, is the glitch then gone?

Hi Pilou, here are the steps I'm following.

Step 1 - load your file kub05.3dm using the Apr-8-2023 v5 beta.

Looks like this:


Then i selected the edge you indicated:


And then I ran the Fillet command and put in radius = 3, I get the glitch that you saw:



After the fillet command has been completed if I now save to a .3dm file and reload it, the glitch is gone. Looks like this:



Do you see different results with these same steps?

Yes, that's the "Direct Modeling" functionality that I was mentioning earlier.

There is some push/pull like functionality already working though, if you select a face object then you can use the Extrude command to do a push/pull like action where it automatically booleans the extrusion with the main body.

There will probably be new bug fix releases every 1 to 2 weeks while tuning the ACIS integration.

So that's an easy fix for the moment for this display bug. But I will see about fixing it up so that isn't necessary.

I tried Pilou's example, get the same artifact.
However: If you right click (the command repeats), just click the object, then DONE and the artifact is gone...
