Hi Michael,

How to copy all the MoI shortcuts and settings from Windows 10 PC to the new Macbook?

Hi Marek, your settings are stored in a file named moi.ini so you will need to copy that file from your old PC to your new machine.

You can find where moi.ini is located by going to Options > General > "Edit .ini file" button.

A dialog box will popup that will tell you the location of the moi.ini file on each machine - that's where you will need to copy it from on the old machine and to copy to on the new machine.

Also if you have installed any plug-ins, copy those over as well, those are files that you would have installed in a "commands" folder in the same spot as moi.ini .

Hi Michael,

How about all the shortcuts using Control and Alt keys?
Will they be replaced automatically by command and option ones?

Hi Marek,

There's a control key on Mac keyboards, so those stay the same.

If I remember right Alt will map to "option" on Mac.

Thank you, Michael.

No problems with copying Commands UI and Script folders but with the moi.ini there is one, pretty weird.

The path in edit.ini points to the file not found on Mac disk, there is not even such path.
There is Library folder in another location but no moi.ini there either.
Tried to find it by Commander One app, with no success.

So I had to add all my MoI PC shortcuts by hand, and all is fine now anyway.

Hi Marek

I am a Mac and occasional Windows user. The Mac Library and its contents cannot be located with Finder under normal use to protect it from accidental changes.

So to find the user Library you need to click on Finder/Go and hold down the Option key, the Library icon will then be shown, clicking on it will open the Library. Click on Application Support and scroll down to the Moi folder. As Michael mentioned the Option key is equivalent to the Windows Alt key.

Hope that helps
Alan

Hi Alan,

Thank you, it helped a lot, as I'm new in Mac environment.
Certainly, moi.ini is there and I can now open it by the text editor.

Cheers,
Marek
