I wanted a way to combine groups and to add objects to a group without using the browser, so I made the attached plug-in command. It avoids creating an excessively deep hierarchy when building up a group piece-by-piece and tries to preserve group names. installation instructions here

The GIF shows how it works with 'g' being the shortcut key that I assigned to combineGroups.

What version of MoI are you using? This will only work in v5.

If you're using v5 please upload a 3dm and a screenshot of the Objects section of the Browser showing which objects are selected immediately before you try to run combineGroups.

Aha, so sorry I have v4 so it is not for me:-)

MoiV5beta easily installs, leaving v4 functional, and works extremely well...
