Panel lines

Hello,

I need to add subtle panel lines to a solid.

I'm drawing a line, adding an offset, close it, project in the surface and extrude, then boolean -> difference.
Is there a better way of doing it?

Tks,
Ulisses

Better or not, you could use a sweep using a projected curve and a shape -square, circle (etc.) next boolean substract.

It's easier if your curves is on a 3d path (not planar), because offset is not usable in this case.

For smaller closed shapes like the left and right in your image there is the inset command which has a “groove” option.

For a large panel slice like your middle arrow, probably need to jump through the hoops as already described

Thanks for all the tips!

I will try the inset + groove, I'm starting to get some results.
