I projected a rectangle into a cylinder.
Then I need to extrude the projected rectangle, but I get it opened (no caps).
Probably my construct concept is wrong because it is curved, but how to solve it?
Hi Ulisses, you probably want to use Edit > Trim to cut the cylinder then select the face and extrude that rather than extruding a curve.
If you extrude a non-planar curve it won't have its ends capped automatically as you will get with planar curves but if you extrude a face or an individual surface that will get a cap by copying the base surface to the end of the extrusion.

If you want to cut only one side you would need to extrude out the cutting object with a limited extrusion distance so that you have a solid that doesn't go all the way through the object. Then use that solid as the cutting object instead of using the curve as the cutting object.
To heal the back like Brian writes above you can do an "untrim" to do that. Select the back face and delete it so you have an opening there, then select the edge of the open boundary and you can use Delete to remove it.
