In MoI the rotation of an object is not stored as a persistent object attribute so there isn't anything to "reset". You can do things like snap on to key points on an object when rotating it to align it to a world axis direction. If you have a model where you're having difficulty doing that can you please post the .3dm model file with the object in it?

You can either use the regular Transform > Rotate command in an ortho viewport like the Top viewport for rotating around z, Front viewport for y, Right viewport for x, or use the Transform > Rotate > Rotate axis command and pick 2 points to define a rotation axis. If you have straight snap enabled when you pick the 2 points it will make it easy to align it along an axis direction.
