Weird behavior of a non-solid object

I tried to created an interesting object with two halves of a cylinder but I couldn't do chamfer and then I accidentally faced a problem: these halves had different behaviors. While the first one was doing well the second had troubles and couldn't chamfer itself. I needed to implement some sweep and loft tools maybe because of them the mesh goes crazy. I can use the nice one just fine but I really want to know what the problem is

I have no problem with any!

I close each by a Plane

Union each = Solid

Chamfer 0.2
If you don't want a solid kill faces that you don't want...

Hi Incoler,

re:

It's probably a bug, I've put it on my list to investigate.

Thanks, - Michael
