SubD preview in MoI

Hello, given that Max’s SubD script can convert a polygon to SubD form in MoI, and in Rhino one can toggle SubD display with the Tab key while manipulating points, edges, faces,... I’m wondering if it’s possible to model a polygon while constantly observing its real-time SubD version in MoI? Like box editing?

Hi tuananhnp, sorry no Moi doesn't have sub-d modeling functionality like that as of yet.

It does have a sub-d converter though so that you can bring in a sub-d model to use as a base object in MoI.

You do that by using a separate poly modeling program to do the box modeling and then bring the result over into MoI using the SubD > Convert > "From file" conversion tool in MoI.

Not specially real time but quasi! ;) (All in Moi)

Make a form (admissible to SUbD )
A Call _subdiv_beta9 by Max
B Cancel
C Modify the form
D Goto A

Take a look at this thread! ;)

Are there some good, or recommended links which explain sub-d modeling?

I came across these three:
http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/Subdivision_Surface_Modeling
https://dezignstuff.com/what-is-subd-anyway/
https://graphics.pixar.com/opensubdiv/docs/intro.html

Recommended MoI links to sub-d?

Hi Brian,

There's a good one here by GuerrillaCG:

Could you describe a little more about what you're asking for this part?

Thank you Michael.

If you want a master of subd modeling (Blender, 3D Max, ZBrush...)
take a look to Arrimus 3D!

He has also 46 Videos about Moi3D (not SUBD...Pure Nurbs)
