It does not appear possible to change the opacity of the unselected grip fames in the Theme options. An option to do this would be helpful with dark UI backgrounds . As an option, big ask, perhaps add some grip files with different colors too ?

Yes, currently it's not a part of the theme options but I'll take a look at adding it there. You can set it
globally in moi.ini by setting

[View]
EditFrameOpacity=45

It takes a value between 0 and 255.

The grip appearance will come from these bitmap files:

GripFrameCorner.png
GripFrameCorner_highlighted.png
GripRotation.png
GripRotation_highlighted.png
FrameOrigin.png
FrameOrigin_highlighted.png

You can have a theme replace any of these files by having a new file with the same name inside the theme folder.

The opacity was the real problem, now solved. I use a Mac and used an 'unconventional way' to change the png colors. Putting the files in the Theme folder is a much more elegant way to change file colors.

Changing the EditFrameOpacity to 120 worked well for me.

IMHO the highlighted grips do not need any change as they seem to work fine with the different themes.

I have attached the original FrameOrigin.png and GripFrameCorner.png below along with the GripRotation.png for others to edit the colors. The result of my dark theme to show the color change effect with my dark theme...........
