How to create this kind of connection and the fillets for it?

Hello,

I am sitting here for moe than 2 hours already on that object and I just can't find a way to create this bottom body of the shape. Especially the connection between the extruded circle and the extruded "hexagon" with chamfered edges.

When I union those 2 parts with my "connector" part it is just not connecting properly and I am not even speaking about filleting. Is that kind of object that complex?

Is there maybe a different way to create that kind of shape than with my method? I am pretty new to MoI3D still and I have to do that shape for a client, but I am just absolutely stuck.

Thank you, Nikita

Thank you Zarkow. That helped!

It's not exactly what I was looking for because I needed those "connections 6 times around the cylinder.. but your scetch with boolean helped me a lot, because I just created 6 boxes/cubes and rotated them around the cylinder center point and then booled them out!

By the way: What is the name of that thing in english? How can you call it?

Hi Nikita3D,
is this what your after.
The problem is where the rib joins the hex and the top dia.
The flat on the hex is same width as the rib so you have to many edges converging.
I created a curve that gave a wider flat on the hex and also trimmed the rib and top dia.
This curve was revolved (caps off) and isect boolean .
This gave less converging edges and the fillet tool worked.
Hope thats clear.
Cheers
Barry
