Amazingly Generous trial

Hey, Thanks for such an amazingly generous trial.
I see I have 3 days left. I have squandered that time and not spent much of it testing out the software.
I have tested it enough to know that its really quite amazing, but not enough to design anything of use.
The jump from a generous trial time to the purchase price of a licence is quite big. Even though I know I would use the software from time to time, I just wont use it enough to justify the purchase price.
I did wonder if there was the option of a month by month subscription? I see that a LOT of software companies are now doing this, as it allows people to come in and still financially contribute towards the software programmers.
I realize there are VM ways to get more trials, but I do want to contribute to the MOI team, just not that much since I will probably only do a few hobby level designs each year.

Anyhow, if no month by month options are available, thanks anyway for the generous trial.

Regards Benny

Hi Benny, I'm glad you are liking MoI!

But I'm sorry I don't have any plans to make a month to month subscription option. The main reason for that is that I like to keep things involving billing to be as simple as possible and dealing with monthly recurring billing would vastly increase the number of transactions and there would be a corresponding increase in the amount of time spent to support and administer that.

Since I'm just one person doing both development and support as well it's pretty important for me to keep the amount of effort required for administration and support to be low.

Sorry that doesn't fit with what you need.

Thanks, - Michael

Thanks for your prompt reply Michael.
I'm impressed with your programming skills. Well done !!
You have made a great piece of software that im sure gives greif to some of the software giants out there.

Surely there are software ways to automate a monthly payment / checking system?

Anyhow, thanks again.

Blessings Ben

Hi Ben,

re:

To a certain extent yes, but there are always outliers with fraud, mistaken orders, disputes and such and fundamentally having a much larger number of transactions makes more work to handle such things.

There are a whole lot more rules about how to save payment information which is needed when doing recurring subscriptions.

It's just quite a bit simpler for me to not have that.

Thanks,
- Michael

Hi Benny,

Of course I do not know what you'd be designing, but I will say that I'd be lost without MoI as a design tool which gets used for virtually everything I build from machine parts, to sculpture, to buildings. MoI's apparent simplicity masks its tremendous utility and capabilities. The modest cost (for me as an individual, compared to other professional CAD tools) and superior support are icings on the cake.

Good day.

You can always use Freecad, Alibre, Blender, sketchup etc

However I think where Moi shines is speed. (and its scripts)
I can design something very fast and out to print or to be cut....

I've installed Freecad, sketchup, Alibre several times and deleted because to me when you use Moi everything else seems a slow process...

And I use Moi for just about anything...carpentry, metal work, 3d print, cnc and other hobbies.

I rarely buy software...but I do buy it if it's worth it and saves time.

Vectric vcarve and Moi3d are my top favorite ones.
