Hi Booleano,

Do you have a top view?

What is it?

- Brian

Looks like a "cone", with lip slit, and rolled down.

https://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Funnel-or-Cone-from-Paper#:~:text=Take%20one%20of%20the%20far,of%20a%20cone%20in%20place.
The rim of the cone has the triangular extension which would be slit and rolled down...

Maybe the "cone" should be squircle shaped?
And blend to cylinder...

Is it wood, horn, leather?
There is no sign of a seam?

Hi Booleano, that's a pretty difficult organic form. I guess I'd probably start by imagining the form before the fold which you could do with Loft through a set of curves like this:

Then the tricky part is you will need to manipulate the control points of the curves to form the folded over area:

Another method which could potentially be easier to control would be to make a folded shape on a flat plane and then apply it onto the Lofted base shape using Transform > Deform > Flow.

The radius at the bottom of the "slit" is a lot less than the radius of the top of the original "flared horn" rim, and the two indentation have
stretched the "leather" quite a bit.
So maybe the original flared horn, before slitting and roll down, was circular, not with a raised up section.

- Brian

The flared horn shape can be the revolve of the appropriate curve.
Iso's would be available.

http://www.skywaves.ar88.net/xtal/horns/horns.html

The flare curve could be traced from one of the side views. The curve does not appear to be uniform.

Sometimes rounded shapes in a photo can look square-ish, but they may not be...

I will make a generic circular one
some iso Sections
Select & Mirror one section that you want modify
Copy & Move the Sections
Add some points on them
Loft (closed)
Move them by Points
Good luck! :)

Your vase model looks good.
Is there a cultural inspiration?
